The Regent Story
It's difficult to choose a single moment as the beginning of this story. But many storylines converged in 2020 when a young American missionary met a Muslim international student at London's Regent's Park. The Muslim student had been having recurring dreams about Jesus Christ when he overheard the American sharing about Jesus with some uninterested strangers in the park. One thing led to another, and soon the Muslim student and missionary were meeting regularly for coffee and Bible study. It wasn't until the student returned to his home that summer that he trusted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
At first, the student faced persecution from his Muslim family and friends. But soon, others also began experiencing visits from Jesus Christ in their dreams. A small, committed band of believers was born. These young Christians started traveling throughout their homeland telling people the good news about Jesus Christ. For many, it was their first time ever hearing the gospel message or even meeting a Christian. Despite facing fierce opposition, the band of believers witnessed thousands of people trusting in Jesus Christ.
Along the way, the former student reconnected with his old friend from Regent's Park and together, they (and a few friends) started supporting this burgeoning network of Christians with Bibles and other basic resources. Today, Regent World Mission has the same basic mission and core team as we seek to be God's ambassadors (or, "Regents") to spread the fame of His glory throughout Asia and the Middle East.

Ministry Distinctives
Regent World Mission seeks to embody the following distinctives:
Gospel-Centered (John 14:6)
A desire to know Jesus and to make Him known is at the heart of everything we do.
Prioritizing the Unreached (Romans 15:20)
We work exclusively among unreached people groups — places in the world where there is no indigenous, established church.
Prayer-Dependent (Psalm 127:1, 1 Cor. 2:5)
We believe that the ceiling of our abilities is the floor of what God is able to do.
Empowering Local Believers (2 Tim. 2:2)
We believe we are most effective when we equip foreign Christians to raise up indigenous churches and Christian leaders.
Stewardship & Transparency (Psalm 24:1)
We seek to thoughtfully minimize overhead costs and communicate openly with supporters (while carefully navigating the security realities of our partners) so that the resources we've been entrusted with go as far as possible.
Statement of Faith
-
Purpose & Scripture – Our chief end is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. God has revealed what we are to believe and how we are to live through the Bible, His infallible Word given by the Holy Spirit.
-
The Triune God – God is infinite, eternal, and incomparable: one God in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—worthy of complete trust in His power, wisdom, righteousness, goodness, and truth.
-
Creation & Providence – God created all things and sovereignly governs everything—events, people, and actions—so that His purposes are fulfilled and His people rest securely in His care.
-
Humanity & the Fall – God created humanity in His image as distinctly male and female and entered into a covenant of life, which was broken by willful sin, plunging mankind into sin and misery.
-
Human Sinfulness – In Adam, all people are born fallen, under God’s wrath, corrupted in body and soul, deserving eternal death in Hell, and unable to save themselves apart from God’s grace.
-
Election & God’s Kingdom – Out of love, God has eternally chosen a multitude to redeem, deliver from sin, and restore His kingdom, a kingdom we enter by holding fast to Christ.
-
Redemption in Christ – Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God made man, fulfilled the law, bore the penalty for our sins, and secured our salvation as our perfect substitute.
-
Resurrection & Reign – Christ was raised for our justification, ascended into heaven, intercedes for His people, rules all things for His church, and keeps His people secure forever.
-
Work of the Holy Spirit – The Holy Spirit applies Christ’s redemption by uniting us to Him through faith, renewing us in God’s image, and enabling growth in holiness until glory.
-
Justification by Faith Alone – God calls sinners to repent and trust in Christ alone; by faith we are pardoned, counted righteous through Christ’s imputed righteousness, and adopted as God’s children.
-
Sanctification & Obedience – Empowered by the Spirit, believers walk in obedience, perform good works prepared by God, and follow Christ’s example out of love and gratitude.
-
The Church & Means of Grace – God established the Church and works through Scripture, sacraments, prayer, and fellowship to strengthen faith and advance the gospel throughout the world. We believe in two sacraments: baptism and the Lord's Supper.
-
Christ’s Return & Eternal Glory – Christ will return in glory to judge the world; believers who die in Him will be perfected, raised in glory, and enjoy God forever, sustaining hope amid suffering.
